Development Management
About ADMG
ADMG is the development management arm of Astrantia Group, acting as a client-side team for investors, landowners and funds on major residential and mixed-use schemes.
The practice is led directly by James Ahearne, who takes personal responsibility for the schemes on which he is appointed. Clients work with him directly, and he assembles and leads the right consultant and delivery team for each scheme rather than passing it to a separate one.
He covers the full life of a scheme, from feasibility, planning strategy and commercial management through to construction, programme and quality on site. It is an approach grounded in first-hand delivery experience rather than advice alone.

James is a chartered planning and development surveyor with more than twenty years in property and development. He helped build Lidl's South West region and ran its North London property office before moving into residential development, leading schemes of thirty to five hundred homes across retirement, build-to-rent and market housing.
On the 485-home, £72m build-to-rent scheme in central Birmingham he was the client-side development and project manager, accountable for the scheme through construction. His earlier work includes the first whole-life net zero carbon retirement scheme in the UK at West Byfleet, circa £120m, and a Tunbridge Wells town-centre scheme, circa £100m, resolved after 21 years stalled.
At ADMG he leads the client-side development management, from feasibility, land assembly and planning strategy through to construction and delivery, holding commercial and programme discipline from first appraisal to completion, and assembling and directing the specialist team each scheme needs.
